In WA, Hancock Prospecting has killed off the hopes of Albermale in trying to secure Liontown.
Gina and Chris Ellison are obviously determined to block expansion of outsiders and they have the financial power to execute this strategy.
So where to next for Albermarle?
A tier 1 jurisdiction is obvious. They have already taken an interest in Patriot Metals but that mine is a long way off.
Sayona offers a very very attractive option.
A takeover would secure $200 million cash, an operating mine at near nameplate capacity, no debt and ofcourse the elephant, the Moblan resource. They have the people to bring on line the carbonate refinery a lot quicker than the Sayona team.
Watch this space people. DO NOT SELL
