This patent does not seem to involve heat, just mixing. Seems pretty simple, if it works.

GTAT went bust attempting to make synthetic sapphires at very high temperatures before grinding them down. It all just seems ridiculous considering ANO was making this stuff at room temperature for 40 euros a kilo the whole time. Apple threw a lot of money at the problem just to see it go up in smoke.

Seems like the main hurdle here is the exclusive agreement with Merck, which is charging up to 200 euro a kilo as a reseller. Once that arrangement expires, there is probably room for ANO to secure higher prices to supply Saint-Gobain.

By the time Merck is out of the picture in 2023, the value of Alusion alone could justify the current market cap.
