Whilst I'm certain that most of the arguing social media mob will NOT get the real message from the climate change assessment - I fear that perhaps politicians may well miss the real message as well
Here's the message for all Australians -----------
*the story is all about - risk from climate - meaning extreme weather events and new 'normal' in weather. We are past the 'ifs'
*the story SHOULD be about how to fortify Australian society from the ravages of climate change
*Australia is too small an emitter to save the planet - the bulk of effort and massive funding must go into preparing the nation for what IS coming. And - it IS coming.
hence, Australia should try to do the right thing by emissions, BUT - the real push should be on changes to stop damage that IS coming
The worst possible scenario from the release of this report is yet another dive into the ridiculous time wasting man made climate change argument - it's happening
accept climate change, accept the probable projections and get on with engineering and readiness
it is TOO LATE for the world to stop what is coming
