In all likelihood,
Chernobyl has happened, Three Mile Island has happened but numerous smaller accidents in nuclear plants and nuclear power is still here.

Someone mentioned in another thread re. BP oil spill off Florida; that didn't lead to a reduction in demand for oil, although arguably the financial and environmental costs there were higher.

This accident will lead to a more careful assessment of the engineering of these plants which I think is a very good thing, and once we are over this in the months to come, the market will calm down and prices will come back to equilibrium; the major discount now is really the price of panic.
