The Australian launch isn't significant for the business model. Douugh's main revenue will come from a slice of the interchange fees. These are the fees the merchant's bank pay Credit Card issuers for each transaction. The USA regulated fees are capped at 2% for standard credit cards. Australia regulates a cap of 0.5%. However if you use a platinum or gold card the fees are not capped by regulations. Therefore it's useful for Douugh to attract HENRY's, (high earning not rich yet) individuals. These are wealthy young millenials without mortgages and high discretionary income. Douugh is utilising Google's AI to identify and attract users with this profile. Subscription fees will be an additional revenue stream but not critical at the beginning.
