Funny enough it was the USA thing that first got me on to phosphate -
"Already, the world's second-biggest producer of phosphate, the US, is importing the stuff"
sounds odd doesn't it? In fact how much they actually import is suppressed by US govt - try looking up stats - plenty of asterix in place of figures.
Considering the USA is still the worlds food bowl this situation is significant.
