Most of the 'baby boomers' see their house as their superannuation Many of them never had super and treated the home as a guaranteed rolled gold investment. Retire, sell down the family home and buy something smaller.
These homes will be coming onto the market over the next decade but it looks like Gen Y aren't going to step up to buy them.
