retirement = period between life and death. The fact that peoples entire lives/working lives are geared towards a 'satisfactory retirement' is misguided. If someone told you you had only a few years to live, are you really going to care that you eat beans on toast and live in a 1 bedroom apartment, after that you are no more (insert your own beliefs therafter).
retirement: the biggest sham in order to distract individuals throughout their working lives. Additionally as individuals age they are more prone to having less worldly concerns and hence appear to be having a good time to some. Psychology has identified that some sort of chemical is released in the brain as people age that tends to counter-effect the negative symptoms of ageing and reduce stress levels.
