The oil spill in G. of Mexico is now a disaster of huge dimensions. BP will be paying hundreds of millions to fix leak and complete a huge cleanup. Could also be liable for massive damage claims.
Some firms will obviously benefit from this offshore oil spill. I have no idea which firms BP will utilise.
My query is twofold:
1)will this disaster deter other companies from offshore oil exploration?
2)will the spill provide more work for underwater specialists who conduct safety-checks and maintainance on underwater pipelines, platforms and rigs?
