They aren't supporters they're part of a cult. It's impossible for many of them to believe that the man they idolised had anything to do with anything underhanded.
Chris Scott has never done anything off-field that could be described as unsavory either, but shoe on the other foot and I bet the Bomber supporters would be all over him...
But I've never seen such support for an individual who was obviously in charge of a very dubious serious of events.
