GDY is way ahead of anyone else when it comes to geothermal EGS, that's why they are running into all the problems. PTR has just started drilling their EGS project and they are running into delays. Plus the REDP grants have to go to unproven technology and EGS is the one because HSA is proven. That's why PAX (two HSA projects in Aus) has not applied for the REDP. Therefore I think GDY remains the front runner for an REDP grant because if they can't do it then its almost a case of no one can, IMHO.
CNM is still front runner for the wave energy grant. (There has to be a grant to wave energy because the federal government has been talking it up on both sides of parliament.) My prediction is $50 million to CNM from the REDP because they already have $250 million promised from Investec and they have said they can do the commercial demonstration for $300 million. The government won't be handing out extra tax payers hard earned if they don't need to.
I'm just putting myself in the shoes of the committee and thinking how I would play it if I was making the decision. But its all conjecture and guesswork from me. I have no real idea or related expertise when it comes down to it, LOL!
Here's another tip - 30c+ share price for CNM if and when the REDP win is announced. Anyone else care to make a guess?
Its only a few weeks away everyone - are we all set???
