That's a scary statistic. 25% of capital gone requires a 33% return on remaining capital to get it back to even. When you consider that long term legends in the industry are those who make over 20% per annum consistently on capital it highlights how difficult trading can be.

I notice a few questions from people along the line of what is happening. Sadly a lot of hard lessons in the brutality of speculative markets. Take TOE - a new float at 25c has flown to $1.60, no mines, no definite discoveries, just cash from the float and a lot of land to explore. I think it's pretty clear why $1.60 hasn't held yet. The company can't be properly analysed for value from either a fundamental or technical perspective. Eventually a base will become clear and hopefully not too many will have been burned in the process.
