Thursday, September 15, 2005 URANIUM explorer Redport says it will become the first company in a number of years to drill for uranium in Western Australia when it begins a 6000m aircore campaign costing $300,000 at its Lake Maitland deposit later this month.
Note first company in a number of years...
RPT) REDPORT LIMITED - Announced that a 6,000 metre aircore drilling program has been devised to commence at the Lake Maitland Uranium Project by the end of September. The focus will be on defining the nature of the high grade core of the deposit. Redpoert feel that a 6,000 metre aircore drilling program will define better the basal contacts of mineralisation and will also outline the extent of lower grade zones. The current resource at Lake Maitland has been estimated at 7,863 tonnes U3O8 (uranium oxide), equivalent to over 1 million ounces of gold. The company is said to be one of the few ASX listed companies with a uranium resource which complies with JORC standards.
