If you think China is pushing hard on renewables, you are deluding yourself. Do a bit of research and see how many helecoal power stations they are building, no doubt importing our coal. Then do some research on how much energy is required to produce solar panels, batteries, wind farms and all the other paraphernalia associated with renewables. Where do you think this energy comes from, they are made in China for the most part using reliable sources of power, not renewables. What this country needs is more reliable power, either coal or nuclear, I'm not fussed which, renewables would not exist without huge government subsidies. Telstra should get into energy in some way, shape or form, unfortunately due to the subsidies on offer it will no doubt be in unreliable renewables.
