    The reality of Smith is far less flattering than what is in your post.

    Smith stuffed up his POA crusade that he spent ages trying to get mileage out of, only to be undone at the TURC when it was shown Blewitt was in Melbourne when the POA was signed.

    Spreading hearsay and innuendo is hardly traits of good detective.

    If Smith spent less time trying to make vague connections to Gillard, and more time on the actual crime, he may have yielded better results (and may have got Gillard by default).

    I can't think of anything that wasn't already known or anything of substance that Smith has acquired that implicates Gillard any more than she already was.

    Which would be the reason Wilson and Blewitt would need to be charged and convicted first, to ascertain and prove that a crime had been committed.
