I'm inclined to agree.
Yesterday's announcement by SYR of the 50kt spherical of take to Marubeni, I suspect, may have put the cat amongst the pigeons. (I, for one, could hardly believe my eyes.)
This immediately confirms the need for large quantities of spherical graphite in the near future (year or two) sourced from natural suppliers, i.e. graphite mines. It also confirm that ROW is (is becoming) a major player.
But most of all, for KNL and Sojitz, it says: "Hey guys! I'm Marubini, your competitor... look at what I plan to do." Unless Sojitz has had wind of this deal and are already structuring it into its deal with KNL, then I suspect there may be some hasty rejigging of the KNL/Sojitz deal or, at least, the way it is announced to the ASX.
All assuming, of course, that Sojitz and KNL still want to do a significant joint venture.
