First of all rate hikes have nothing to do with the current government.
Labor can blame past governments like Keating can blame past governments. Inflation is out of control because of ScoMo and the LNP and other governments pumping up projects, like NBN, Snowy Hydro, looking for a plane in the ocean, Submarines, you name it.
Now with stupid rates from Glenn Stevens and co the house prices have overshot massively stoked by council overvaluations to the point prices for houses and land is unaffordable under financialization versus actually economic productivity. So inflation is out of control simply to try and pay for higher house prices and guess what?? Businesses and employees cannot afford the inflation so rates are going up but taxes on purchase prices need to brought in and immigration cut because people cannot afford to be screwed over by the elite anymore.
