such a decision requires a board that is willing to go out on a limb, take a risk.
(with no reference to qantas here) too many boards are simply full of professional board sitters who would rather see a company go down due to external factors such as a fuel price than be seen to have gambled on a spec stock such as a Linc type company.
but some are innovators and leaders.
