yes regularly. When women were left literally carrying the baby - and lots of them - they were burdened. They didn’t have many options. many of these babies weren’t their choice but the result of the difference in strength. Women were property to be mated for gain by their parents. Part of the cattle market
some women were not thus burdened however and their capabilities were allowed to bloom - or they took it upon themselves to do what interested then or where their skills lay
it appears many men however continue to believe that the biological ability to bear children means women have less ability to do other things.
access to contraception has given this notion a good shake up. Except that some steadfastly hold on to the past as some sort of proof
