    that’s so funny. I recall decades ago doing a statistical review of staffing patterns in the public service including a gender analysis. This was done in part because there was a “hole” in age groups - deaths and low birth rates during World War Two But what showed up was that females so outnumbered men in the lower grades that women were inevitably going to flow through to senior levels and outnumber men. (assuming no other changes which is another matter)

    the comment of the most senior public servant when I presented the data was “how are men going to feel if women start taking up all these senior roles?”

    my response as a smart arse 23 year old - “a bit like women have felt all this time”

    what’s the big deal?
    behind your post “is it going to be good for society” are so many assumptions, beliefs and generalisations that it’s almost terrifying
