RFG is typically a food franchising company. The market is moving away from sterile companies which have multiple locations. Mc Donalds is thinking about closing in Australia.

In a recession luxury food sales go up but the market is more particular and don't want bland food which is processed in centralized production kitchens and transported to different locations.

Franchising operations are typically process food and sell it to the franchisor therefore it doesn't have the flavor or quality as owner operator food outlets.

De Bella coffee was one of the worst purchases for RFG. The coffee has gone downhill over the years. The market will generally drink any old cheap coffee but this is slowly changing. De Bella coffee was good but has gone downhill and in the hands of a large corporate the quality should fall further.
