Justin you didn't get my point. I am not having a go at Tyro. Actually if you re-read my post I am actually saying Tyro paid some money out to affected customers (debatable if it was sufficient) but I asked the question as to see what Optus will do. My view was back then (when I was a shareholder) Tyro went to far trying to please customers that will never be satisfied. Robbie Cooke went too far in terms of allowing compensation.
In any case I think my post has aged well. Because now we find out Optus is offering customers some extra data as compensation something that costs them either nothing (as they have spare capacity) of is pennies on the dollar. Tyro in my opnion set a bad precedent via the compensation as we see Optus will not be as generous. Customers are fickle they will always complain and leave and when they realise they have a good service they will come back. In my opnion Tyro should have played the long game and let some customers go and when they realise they had it so good with support located in Australia they would have come back on new contracts at higher rates. But no Tyro didn't do this and hence I sold because its not if the next outage will happen but rather when and the precendent set is a bad one. Any good luck to all shareholders.
