You can only proceed with an economic recovery with a proper containment of the virus, not the other way round. Look at Europe, US etc. I would rather lockout for another month till December, rather than risk going back to lockdown for months if a 2nd wave hits. I was amazed by those businesses at the border lamenting lack of Sydneysider frequenting their cafe etc. Really? Close shop if no Sydneysider? Really? Setting up Dreamworld and only rely on people from Sydney for business? Why not set up their theme park in Sydney then. All those calling for border to reopen unconditionally are reckless , utterly selfish, separate and playing politics.
