    The reality is that it doesn't matter what YOU think should happen to the stock price of Qantas, what matters is what you think those trading Qantas think will happen to the share price. There are tons of mispriced stocks out there where the stock price moves in the opposite direction to its underlying value without clear explanation in terms of fundamental drivers. Given Qantas is the flagship airline of Aus which the government will never let go bust I think there are better companies to short. I bought in at $2.90 during Covid and sold at $5.52 earlier this week because I don't see much more upside. That's not to say when borders open up again the price will be the same if not more than pre Covid levels, perhaps $7 or $8. Yes it's nonsensical but as per above it doesn't matter. Perhaps the share price will go down in the longer term but not to the magnitude that you'll make much money unless you have a very large position.
