I have been out of the industry for about 6 months - but covid relaxations ended well before then. (on training at least, can’t speak so much for the slots, but I’m sure I recall it being back to normal too, especially overseas)
The return to work plans were enormous, especially for the long haul who had not flown at all; SIM sessions were technically resetting recency, but we decided against using it as it simply didn’t pass the pub test and we weren’t comfortably sending crew back into the skies who had done half a dozen take of and landings in 12-18 months without touching an aircraft
