The Federal Government cannot just 'take over'.
It's thanks to ScoMo, who ensured international flights (particularly from mainland communist China) were cancelled in February 2020, that we've had relatively little trouble with this virus (save for Victoria, where the Premier Andrews' incompetence and arrogance led to 801 deaths, far more than elsewhere in Australia).
