Agree! Something like c.85 per cent of QAN flight profits are in domestic, not international.
While the QAN FF scheme will remain a good profit centre, it won't be sufficient to stop the drain that these idiotic State Premiers (apart from Gladys B) are imposing on the transport and hospitality sectors.
One can surmise that more QAN staff may have to be sacked.
Airlines have huge fixed expenses. More Sydney-based managers may have to go if the CEO really wants to slash daily expenses, even though paying out redundancies has an immediate financial cost.
How many of us foresaw the day when five of the six State Premiers would act almost in unison to destroy these important parts of the Oz economy, or at least saddle many companies with huge debts?
In descending order of idiocy they are Andrews (Vic: most crazy), McGowan/Palusczuk (WA/Qld), Gutwein (Tassie) then quite a gap to Marshall of SA.
