I enjoyed travelling in (among others) Singapore Airlines' A380s but most if not all airline operators (with the possible exception of Emirates) acknowledge that while A380s are great for passengers, they're difficult to fill at an acceptable yield per passenger.
I am not in the aviation industry but for my money it's difficult to see QAN ever flying its A380s again, except to a final scrapyard in California or elsewhere. From memory bankrupt or close to Malaysia Airlines tried to sell some but there were no buyers at the price the airline wanted.
If the QAN CFO hasn't written the A380s down to a zero balance in the accounts, arguably he ought have.
