The naysayers will scoff at this position, but post-Covid there will be an explosion of international travel. I've seen this personally in action twice: once in 1990 with the Australian pilot's dispute and again in Thailand when the "yellow shirt" protesters closed Suvarnabhumi Int'l airport in October 2008. During both events bookings and travel plans were disrupted enmasse. The latter event in Thailand killed the famous QF1 route, SYD-BKK-LHR (Sydney Bangkok London).
But following these events, there was a massive increase in travel as people made up for lost time and opportunities. Remember there's also millions of kids sick and tired of being stuck indoors. There's a world to explore, and A380s will have to be brought back into service, albeit for a while. Bear in mind that those events are regional but this is global, so wider implications.
That phase could last for a while, and as long as the pandemic drags on, the bigger the travel boom at the other end of it.
Time will prove me right or wrong.
