    Whilst all the news is full of the domestic flying debacle, sadly, not just for Qantas, but the entire Australian tourism industry, the larger departure points for most overseas visitors to Australia are not going to rebound any time soon with pressing measures in place for the now most contagious verison of COVID, Omnicron BA4 and BA5:

    China has rolling restrictions in place and New Zealand maybe about to even reintroduce restrictions, but is avidly encouraging stay at home and other soft policies, which will limit tourism travel too:

    Not that any patriotic older Chinese person would be caught dead in Austalia anyway and if you've had COVID, forget leaving or entering China with out massive difficulty:

    The two biggest previous departure points for Australia tourism remain massively below pre-COVID levels, making Qantas forecast for international travel returning to 70% this quarter very, very doubtful.
