But given how Japan is 'closed' to the vast majority of tourists, QAN via Jetstar has a duty of care to its passengers at the airport if as occurred here a flight was cancelled and there was no same day uplift down to Cairns or anywhere else.
This isn't an everyday situation, far from it. The passengers couldn't even access transit accommodation due to Japanese public sentiment making the LDP government paranoid.
