Buy backs are promoted as supporting or even enhancing sp supposedly for the average retail investor. Nonsense, the primary intention of bb's is to artificially increase the sp so as to be eligible for incentives in the remuneration report, ie having achieved a sp of $x by such and such. As to the QAN Board, being inept or ignorant, perhaps so but Boards are elected by the sh's to protect their interests not a plaint mob of lackeys for the CEO and management team. The QAN Board have been on board (no pun intended unlike many QAN travellers not on board in any manner) from the outset and share a good part of the responsibility for the QAN demise into a third-rate and declining airline, to the shame of the nation.
