I think that this will go would down in history as the dumbest buybacks in Australian history if it wasn't for the fact that it was just blatantly corrupt. Joyce did this to pump the stock so that he could dump his shares before departing. How the board approved this is competely confounding.
I look forward to seeing this shitco accumulate debt in the coming years as interest rates continue to rise. After squandering the bailout money that Qantas received from hard working Australian taxpayers it deserves to get run into the ground as a result of its own mismanagement.
