Like you, I don't support that, and find it disgusting. I hope the women concerned are successful in their Supreme Court civil case.
As I understand it, this had nothing to do with Qatar Airways. That airline may not be a shining beacon but look at how QAN treated staff during COVID-19. QAN has also split its cabin crews into at least four different industrial awards (to save money with newer hires) and is also using many foreign cabin crew (Poms between London and Singapore on QF1, returning on QF2) and NZ cabin crew on the newish QF3/QF4 Auckland to New York and return.
Jetstar employs many Asian cabin crew on Australian international routes.
While it doesn't excuse such behaviour at Qatar Airport, the vast majority of likely passengers are not pregnant women, and dumping a baby in an airport toilet or on an aircraft is (thankfully) extremely rare. Ideally, it should never occur but we're not in Nirvana. So 'the incident' may not ever occur again.
