I wouldn't even rank QAN in the top 30 airlines worldwide, given it's fallen. I've only travelled on about half the airlines I'd rank but reasonably easy to get the gist of what airlines offer (and importantly don't offer) from the significant number of online reviews.
QAN was arguably overrated in the past decade: the huge amount of negative media received on a few fronts has merely brought this to the surface.
Politicians would be upset at loss of access to the Chairman's Club, as would the Labor Prime Minister's son. That last "grant" was not even subtle.
