An old fleet of aircraft way past their historical average target age (they stopped reporting on in it FY14 ) that will need massive capital injection to renew.
- The 75-strong B737 fleet are between 10 to 22 years old, average age 16 years.
- Of the 147 airlines operating A330, Qantas has the 127th oldest fleet - average age of 17 years for 26 aircraft (oldest is 21 years).
Same Job - Same Pay coming in November. No more ability to have crew on five different awards working on the one flight.
ACCC looking into the practice of requiring 100% payment upfront for a ticket that you may not use for 12 months. If this changes, the cash reserves will be emptied.
Meanwhile the board approves another share buyback at the latest half year meeting. $400M worth.
