Consoling? No. I think it is more likely there is a tie up between Qantas and Air New Zealand under the incoming Government. if REX folds and Virgin continues to be a capital destructive exercise, I think the Open Skies Policy Will have to be enacted for Australian domestic.
Qantas and Air New Zealand could operate very well against the Internationals in Domestic at a much lower price.
The prices are far too high and Qantas is a Reichsflug, Braniff, Alitalia type outfit at the moment.
