I doubt these transient covid lockdowns will be that material for Qantas in the long run.
However, what I am concerned about is:
1. Structural changes as a result of covid - the increased adoption of teleconferencing and lower population growth.
2. A recapitalised Virgin starting a price war to retain market share.
3. Whether the generous government assistance provided to Rex airlines is a one-off or whether the government is likely to continue to prop up Rex to provide competition on regional routes.
