I like oilprice.com but if that's its official belief they are quite lost. Nothing of the sort.

Conan77 is right the discussion is too focused on fashionable energy forms rather than how the energy which is actually consumed is produced. It is explained very well in a recent book which I have read and recommend.

The author is one of the few that really knows what he is talking about. He says gas is here to stay but in Europe has become too expensive because it cannot compete with cheap Russian and Australian coal. As to coal he says that most of the discussion is just the wishful thinking of renewable supporters.

"Empires In Collision - The Green Versus Black Struggle For Our Energy Future" by David Howell Gilgamesh Publishing 2016

The author is not indulging in guesswork. He is Lord Howell of Guildford who was first elected as a British MP in 1966. He was Margaret Thatcher’s first Secretary of State for Energy and later became Secretary of State for Transport. In 2000 he became Chairman of the British Institute of Energy Economics. In 2003 he became Chairman of the Windsor Energy Group. He is the only Energy Minister to have served in all of the Heath, Thatcher and Cameron administrations.
