dump came when rights could be traded. anyone who didnt want to add new shares would have sold rights and taken cash.
in the instances (this is not a rule) that prices fall once shares are allocated it is when people buy new shares they do not want simply to sell once (or before) they are issued. i believe that everyone who buys new shares will want to keep. or have already have sold the number of new shares they will be allocated.
happy to hear a diff perspective.
