CSL were a bit of an outcast in the early days. I first got involved with them when they were trying to fit the Bioplasma plant into West Block in Parkville, the project went way over budget before it was abandoned and Hawke decided to sell CSL off.
I got 3000 shares at the IPO, nobody really wanted them, but I knew the IPO really undervalued the company's assets. Those 3000 shares would be worth about $2.5M today- not counting the dividends since 1994.
I can't complain about CSL's performance over the years.
