Windsor has been in this situation before with Greiner. At this election he won 61.9% of the primary and 71.5% of the 2pp. He's hugely popular in his electorate and won't be going anywhere.
With supply assured, Labor won't call an early election unless the polls are strongly in there favour. Impossible to know whether that means less than the full term, but the incumbent always holds the aces. I'm expecting the coalition to start canabilising themselves at some point, although that could also happen to Labor. Too many unknowns to be crystal ball gazing. Peoples political memories are very short, by and large.
One thing's for sure, Abbott will need to come up with some policy substance to have any hope. To date, he's only shored up the arch conservatives. As the deficit returns to surplus, all he'll have left is that maniacal "Stop the boats" catastrophising. Hardly an alternative PM. Thus far, whatever the electorate thinks of Labor, it can't stand Abbott. Needs a big dose of progressive thinking but this leopard can't change it's spots without appearing more and more hypocritical.
