NSW and Victorian harvests are running up to four weeks late so the final situation isn't known.
Many flooded crops in NSW will be downgraded it seems to feed status (with growers receiving markedly lower prices per hectare) but some may have escaped the rains.In Victoria.
A Yarrawonga barley grower was in 'The Weekly Times' of Wednesday 8 December 2021 boasting about his crop yielding seven tonnes per hectare compared to the excellent 6.5t/ha of winter 2020's crop.
The picture is mixed, but like you I suspect we won't have bread/pasta shortages in 2022.
The end result may be more positive than some media suggest. Wait and see.
GNC SP has risen to a very healthy A$7.00 - $7.30 range.
