You seem to be ignoring a very simple fact as to why the once great Australian icon is in such a bad way.
Customer service, its as simple as that. I now refuse to fly with qantas because of the way they treat the customers. Upon making legitimate complaints to the company one would expect a response. Forget it, they could not care less.
The last time I flew with qantas was in 2010 and I have had 8 more international flights since then and not one with qantas. That is why the profits are down, because people refuse to fly with them.
I deliberately seek out Australian products and I dont care about paying a little extra for higher quality. I now seek out other airlines when I must fly. Because I demand to be treated like a human being and I demand to be treated with some common decency. You will never get this experience with qantas.
Don't blame me, blame the company and the lazy staff who are only interested in their own importance.
