    from the statement I get the feeling Glenn is kinda hoping inflation sorts itself out over the year. Melbourne institute figures out yesterday indicated we're running at 3.3% down from 3.6% from the previous monthly data, still over the 2 to 3 target band.

    Mentions the 'softening' of house prices. Funny how they like to use this careful language. When the stockmarkets go down they usually don't have to say, 'the all ords softened a little during the day'

    Maybe if the house prices show across the board falls of several percent he will say 'the prices are really softening now' or 'they are very very soft at the moment, as soft as a duck down pillow'

    Anyway a bit of reprieve there for the property market.

    3 people at work this week have decided to sell their house and rent while looking for a house with an extra room into the 'softening' market. Not a bad idea at all IMO
