I sold out a while ago. I briefly held some, but fairly quickly decided it looked like even though they had some good ideas/products, they were going nowhere fast with them. That decision is looking better and better now - I broke even.
I hate to say it, but more and more they're showing all the signs of a company about to fall over.
Why aren't directors selling? I bet they wish they could, but it would be an obvious killer to the share price if they did that now, possibly a total company killer given the current situation.
Even if they did make some sales now (I mean, real sales, not just selling enough to get some lunch money and an excuse to say they made a token sale) I'd be reluctant to buy in. I'd see it more as a one off thing than something they were good at and would continue doing. I think the board have proven themselves as being unable to run a company, even if they're good at making cool stuff.
The recent "We sold something" announcement in my opinion just reeks of desperation when coming from a company in this position. Companies don't pull that sort of card unless they're really backed into a corner. EDE's behaviour is reminding me a bit of STI's in the year or so leading to it going into administration. Lots of products, lots of promises, no deliveries on any, reports of sales with no specifics given (thus obviously tiny quantities). I don't think the board is as dodgy as STI's, but they seem to be in a similar situation and pulling some of the same desperation moves.
On the other hand, everyone is thinking the same thing, the share price has the downside factored in, and if they actually do get a contract and make regular sales, holding now would have you set for a multibagger. I'm sure most of the people holding because of that hope wouldn't choose to buy in now, which really means you're holding for sentimental reasons rather than logical ones... never fall in love and all that.
All the same, good luck, it's not entirely out of the question, and I'd love to see EDE fly, even if I'm not holding.
Don't listen to me, I'm wrong, DYOR...
