I suspect Trump won't run: he'll save his withdrawal from the race until after the Democrats nominate Joe Biden (or possibly Elizabeth Warren), then he'll step aside for some younger, more presentable Republican. Wouldn't be Mike Pence though.

Then it'll be a race between an old Democrat and a younger, cleaner, perhaps just as - shall we say - 'conservative', fresh-faced Republican nominee, who would have a BIG chance. And if he (I presume a 'he') wins, Trump will claim all the glory and go on gloating and sneering at the world in blissful retirement.

Trump may be disgusting, and indeed be incredibly narrow in his comprehension of the world, but within that limited frame of reality, (his ego) he's an expert.

The Democrats underestimated him once. I suspect they're about to do so again.
