Will Turkey invade North Syria or not?  Erdogan reportedly says that they will but the US and Russian response to this threat remains unclear.

What remains perfectly clear is that any territory occupied by Turkey will remain part of Turkey.  There is a broader neo-Ottoman / Islamo-Fascist  agenda in play and Erdogan is probably of a now or never view.  Russia is pulling forces out while Trump remains completely obsessed with his golf handicap, watching television, the Mueller investigation and firing off twitter insults to just about everybody.

Meanwhile, Assad appears to have become one of Khamenei's vassals.

The only issue that Erdogan and Khamenei agree on is that they both seek  stamp out Kurdish independence in Iraq and the self declared Northern Federation in Syria.

Does Trump have brawn to make up for a lack of brains?  I don't know .... except to say that his would be extremely unhappy that Erdogan shat in his face in Washington by ordering his goons to attack demonstrators (and a few police officers ).  We can only wait and see.

There are other tangents to this as well.  Most importantly there are no bullets fling from Syria into Turkey.  Will NATO prove to be impotent?  Will Erdogan's forces suffer heavy casualties and will countless civilians be blown apart by Turkish shells?  Again we can but wait and see.
