will twiggy go the way of bondy?

Nice to see so much support for Andrew Forrest on these boards following yesterday's court decision.

Clearly to very many people Twiggy is an Australian hero. A battler who made good against all odds, a man of incredible vision, one who always speaks his mind, a genuine knockabout type with a great sense of humour, generosity of spirit and benevolent disposition.

Will he always be remembered this way? Or will he soon become another victim of our famous/infamous "Tall Poppy Syndrome".

Those who say it could never happen need look no further back than another larger-than-life West Australian, Alan Bond. Para 2 described him perfectly. People loved Bondy and were quick to overlook his penchant for 'gilding the lily' whilst ever the end justified the means. But once the tide turned Alan went from hero to zero in the eyes of the nation very quickly.

Not saying the same will happen with Twiggy but no doubt he will be under immense personal pressure if the upcoming High Court challenge fails.

Interesting times ahead!
