A lot has been said about the damaging effect of the mining downturn and all I am seeing is the opposite in the real estate area to what was predicted.

Assumption is there that job losses will mean a migration back east but the City of Perth is changing rapidly as are the burbs.

Growth is phenomenal , plus once here to head back is damn expensive so most stay here and give it a go because of the lifestyle and low population relative to the other states.

Could we be the next LA ? Heaven forbid but is this going to replicate what happened in the USA on its West Coast? Not all about mining over here it seems.
